So how is Rebekah, anyway?

At least one person per day asks me how our oldest daughter is doing.  Rebekah is sixteen and a sophomore at the Black Forest Academy in Germany.  We are so super proud of her.  We keep bugging her to write a blog so all of her fans can be aware of how she’s doing.  But she feels too consumed with school and extracurricular activities to get a blog done.  So I sent her a questionnaire and asked her the top questions people ask me about her.  Here’s her answers with my added editorial comments.

How’s Rebekah?

I’m doing well.

Does she like it?

I like it here.

Has she made friends?

Yes, I’ve made more friends here than I have in the last three years.

Is she homesick?

Yes, I'm homesick right now.... But not really anymore cuz I know you guys are coming to take me home SOOOONNN.... Knowing where I’m going for Christmas break really helps me not to get homesick as bad as it was.

Is she doing okay in school?

Yes, I'm doing okay in school. It is still hard for me to get used to the system (Proud mom side note: she’s doing awesome in school and getting a 3.0.).

What is her favorite thing?

My favorite thing??? I don't really know... but I know that I really like Europe. It is really different here.... I love it here in Germany, France, and Switzerland.

What is her least favorite thing?

The hardest thing for me is making really good friends. I’m really shy around people that I don’t really know.

I also want to add that hearing Rebekah talk about her trust in God when we Skype is a beautiful thing.  She truly believes God brought her to BFA for a purpose and she is trusting Him to work out everything for His glory and her good.  What more could a mom ask for?

We are counting the days until we see her...21 to be exact!  I think it is so sweet of the Lord to have provided us with plane tickets to Europe on the very day she gets out of school for Christmas break.  We will all be together as a family when we cross the threshold into our new home and new life in the Czech Republic.  God is so good.

Rebekah's dorm consists of 17 girls, 2 dorm parents, and 2 RAs.

Rebekah and her roomie.

Obviously dorm life is no fun.

Can't wait to see that smile in person!
